This is a nice feature, but I found it to be unreliable. two taps will skip forward a track, three will skip back. The media player extension allows you to pause or play your smartphone's music player with a touch of the function button and then a tap on the SmartBand. The SmartBand has a function button that allows you to interact with the device, and a number of extensions can be downloaded. In addition to the tracking, you can set the SmartBand up to act as limited remote controller for your smartphone.
While the SmartBand is still a snug fit around my wrist after a month of use, I do wonder how secure it will be after six months or a year of use - how tight will the grip of the two little poppers going through two holes in the band be after the constant use and friction this wearable will go through?Įven after four weeks of use, if I catch the edge of the band, the poppers come free without too much effort. Hopefully a replacement band will be easy to source and at a sensible price in the future, which is one benefit of having the electronics in the tracker separate from the wristband.
